Judtih Geher (b. 1970, Toronto, Canada)  reconciles the culture of fashion and advertising with the personal communication of the “selfie”, a form of self-presentation and expression. Through drawing, painting and digital techniques, her work re-presents found imagery though a subjective narrative. Her figurative paintings hold personal memories of both a longing for and a rejection of beauty through an iterative process. Judith Geher holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Toronto. The artist has had solo exhibitions at at Parts Gallery, Toronto; Herringer Kiss Gallery, Calgary, and has participated in exhibitions at First Canadian Place Gallery, Toronto; John B. Aird Gallery, Toronto; 401 Richmond, Toronto; Gladstone Hotel, Toronto; Toronto International Art Fair with Parts Gallery, Toronto; among others. Geher currently lives and works in Toronto.
